My thoughts

I love a mystery, especially one that is decades old. ‘Who took Sophie Summers?’ didn’t disappoint and I must say, I always enjoy Derek’s books. He does mystery with skill. I loved the detective, Harry, coming out of retirement to solve a case that’s haunted him for years.

It was enjoyable playing amateur sleuth while reading this book. So many possibilities came up and it had me flummoxed until the end. I seemed to devour this book in no time and I loved the school setting, where it all began. A family’s worst nightmare spun into an amazing novel. Fantastic read!
