This That and Reviews

Those who read this blog will know that About Us… my last novel is free as an ebook across a few platforms. I hope those who’ve read the book have enjoyed the story. Not everyone will, who likes all the books they read, even if they’re by the same author? Anyway, like it or loathe it, reviews count for a lot so please feel free to leave one either on here or on the Amazon bookpage. All this leads me to the fact that my new novel will be out next month. It’s title BROKEN TIES, and follows Ged from being a boy in the 60s when his mum disappears to his later life and the effect all that happened has had on him. It will be out in paperback first with an ebook to follow in about 8 weeks. Anyway, that’s just a bit of news and I hope one or two of you will read it. As usual I will be doing events linked to this new book so do check my w/site for details. www.margaretholbrookwrites.weebly.com
Hopefully there will be a couple of new titles out next year, short stories from the dark side of my writing and another novel, Remember When You Loved Me and I am working on a second book of Cul de Sac Tales (pub 2020) lots to look forward to, and I am. I received news of two acquaintances of mine being diagnosed with dementia all within the last three weeks. Time is precious and I hope I will use mine well. I can’t imagine what these two people are going through having received the news but I hope they both carry on stoically through it and that they are still able to enjoy some of the things they loved. Look after your family and friends, try not to fall out over trivialities but if you do, remember to be quick to put it right. Time is precious, and as Dr Johnson said, ‘a man, Sir, should keep his friendship in constant repair.’
