The Kindle Storyteller UK 2019 contest for KDP Select authors will open for entries on May 1 and is running for the third year with a grand cash prize of £20,000.
The entry period for Kindle Storyteller UK Award 2019 is from May 1 until August 31, 2019.
Entries must be for books that are available as an ebook and a print book. The ebook must be exclusive on Amazon and enrolled in the KDP Select scheme.
Books must be written in English and be previously unpublished work in any category of fiction or non-fiction. When publishing the book, StorytellerUK2019 should be entered in the keyword metadata field in order for Amazon to identify your entry
Previous years have seen a varied selection of around five or books picked for the shortlist for the award and a panel of judges will then pick the overall winner.
The first award in 2017 was won by David Leadbeater’s thriller The Relic Hunters while the 2018 prize went to Hannah Lynn for The Afterlife of Walter Augustus. Since winning the award, David has sold more than 165,000 books, and Hannah has gone on to publish three further novels.
Hannah Lynn says, ‘Hearing my name called out last October for The Afterlife of Walter Augustus was incredible. To receive such recognition for only my second book was such a fantastic confidence boost that has made me all the more determined to keep writing. I wish the best of luck to the 2019 entrants and urge any writers who are on the fence to enter — you never know what might happen.’
