My thoughts
This novel had my heart pumping like mad! As the tension built, I found myself holding my breath. The psychological thriller ramped up, then the thrill took over, then more thrill and action. It just didn’t hold up so if you start this book, expect to be consumed by it.
The setting was amazing. I had such a beautiful picture in my head of the stunning house on a a cliff that had the most amazing view and it was idyllic. I loved the descriptions too as they were so well written.
I enjoyed reading the parts going back to the main character’s past which showed how she ended up at the house. They nicely blended in with the current timeline which was peppered with secrets and deceptions.
If you enjoy a psychological thriller that really gets under your skin and a book that demands to stay in your hands until you’ve read the final words, then this is it! I thoroughly recommend ‘The Wife’s House.’
