The Dinner Party by RJ Parker – review.

Description

All your friends are invited. But which of them will survive?

An addictive and twisty psychological thriller about the dark secrets that lie within a peaceful neighbourhood.

Eight friends. Eight secrets. One killer.

A group of old friends gather in a peaceful suburban street for a dinner party.

They are expecting a fun evening of wine, food and pleasant company. But then they start to play the game…

It’s about trust and dark secrets – it tests marriage to its limits – and none of them can begin to imagine its consequences.

Because the next day, two guests are dead and the others are trapped in a nightmare…

My thoughts

Well I have to say, I loved this psychological thriller. It had me gripped, and what a fast read. I whizzed through it, dying to know how it ended.

I loved the set up, each person at the dinner party all having a secret but no one knowing exactly what that secret was at the time. The reveal is gradual as the secrets are uncovered. And, the drama – it’s tense. I won’t give away any of the high points as I don’t want to ruin it for any potential readers.

Ted was a relatable main character. I liked him and enjoyed being in his head throughout the whole novel. If you love a psychological thriller, full of tension and secrets, then you’ll enjoy The Dinner Party.
