I’m excited to share with you a new project I’ve been working on. This time, it’s not a book, it’s a fantastic FREE digital reading program that explores the characters and adventures in Alice-Miranda in the Outback in a three-part video series with lots of great activities.
I loved writing the latest Alice-Miranda story. It’s a book full of mystery, adventure, quirky characters and loads of fun – equally suitable for girls and boys.
The story, set in outback Australia delves into a variety of themes including family, friendship, environmental issues, problem-solving, Indigenous culture, community and greed. It’s perfect as a whole class read, for small reading groups or individual reading activities.
The project integrates reading and technology via the free interactive Learning Journal for use on iPad or you can download the PDF worksheets. It’s suitable for guided reading programs and allows students to store their thoughts and creations as well as reflecting on the myriad interesting characters and mysteries throughout the story.
The videos and journal are divided into three sections: prior to reading, mid reading and after reading, designed to be watched and interacted with, as students progress through the book. For iPad, you need to start by downloading Pages and then download the Learning Journal, otherwise, you can download the PDF.
