I was intrigued when I received an invitation to be an attending author at RARE (Romance Authors and Readers Events) in the summer.
I had never attended such an event in the UK, though I did attend similar signings in the US when RT Bookloves still ran their conventions. (New Orleans was my favourite.) But when I learned that the event was already sold out in London, I thought I’d take up the invitation to be an attending author! (Note. If you’d like a ticket, it’s worth checking back here, on the Eventbrite site, as there are cancellations from time to time.
So, what is RARE?
It’s the opportunity to meet a couple of hundred authors in one place, to buy signed books, and mix with other readers. Somewhere around 1600 reader tickets have been sold, so it’s popular. There’s a good chance you’ll get photos with favourite authors, too – and make new book friends from around the world. I hope to see you there.
