Fun at the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Writing Festival – 2019

Okay, this was my first time attending a crime book festival and wow, what a first! I had the most amazing time. It was lovely catching up with the Bookouture crew and the many author friends I’ve made. Finally, I got to put some real faces to Facebook profiles. It’s much better chatting in real life than online (I promise).

I also met BBC’s Steph McGovern and she even took the time to speak to me about my writing journey. What a lovely lady! Did I mention how much I love

Crimewatch and Shop Well for Less? (I’m human, I love a bargain.). 😅

The lawn chairs are fab too and I got to hang out in the tent. What more could an author ask for? Being surrounded by books, book lovers and authors – it’s the best. I’ll be back next year, that’s for sure.

Regrets:

Not booking early – I’d have loved to see the quiz or Val McDermid singing Happy Birthday to Nicola Sturgeon but I was too late. That’s not happening next year! I put myself right on that mailing list in the hope that I’ll be able to attend some of the events.

Here’s a few piccies.
