I don’t know about autocracies but I think democracy is dead. It definitely no longer exists at a time when it could be absolute. The whole country could theoretically vote on anything now, an online referendum a day! But all the governments on earth are now ruled by the few world industries. What do we call this? A Conglomerocracy? We are all anarchists now, anyone who still has a voice.
