Adventure Festival

Couple of dates for your virtual diaries, folks.

As part of Sheffield Libraries’ ADVENTURE BOOK FESTIVAL I’ll be getting my own adventure on. There are two workshops I’m running online and these sorts of things have, historically, sold out really quickly so I’d get your skates on an book your place sooner rather than later…

The events are:

Adventure Writing Workshop for 13 – 16 year olds – July 14th 4:30pm

Where I will show you how to write brilliant and exciting stories and poems – all about adventure. Space travel, time travel, dinosaurs, mythical beasts – whatever you think is exciting, we want you to write it. CLICK to sign up.

and

Explore What Being a Writer Is – July 17th 7pm

The world of a writer can seem like a strange and distant land. I’m inviting you in and will show you how to navigate it. I’ll remove the myth and the mystique and show you how to live, work, and succeed at writer – whether that’s around a day job, if you’re just starting out – or if you’re ready to take the plunge and the big next step of sending your work out.

There’ll be a short, informative and informal chat, a whole bunch of tips from someone who’s been in the industry for 17 years – the opportunity to quiz me – and a couple of handy exercises on writing adventurous stories. CLICK to sign up.

It’s all very exciting and, I hope, something that’ll offer a pretty decent alternative to the pub.

I hope you’re all staying safe and sensible out there.
