1. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I have been an avid reader since childhood. When I was ten, I knew I would be a writer someday; I thought I would be a playwright. I have done business writing, articles, two screenplays, and this memoir. And back to my childhood dream, I have done the research and an outline for my first play.
2. Do you hear from readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
It is so rewarding to hear from my readers. Usually, they tell me how much they love my book. Many have told me my book changed their lives. One young woman, who was very depressed and having suicidal thoughts, shared, “Your book lifted my spirits and gave me reasons to want to live.” Some had never been on a spiritual path. “Chloe’s goal is to heal the world through spiritual awakening; her compelling story of lifelong trauma and illness, spiritual practice, and recovery has inspired me to be open to the messages around us and to begin to develop a spiritual practice in my own life.” Some felt they had been searching for a book like mine all their lives. “My entire life, I have always felt that books held secrets. That if I keep picking up a book, I would find one chapter, one sentence, or even one word that would change my life. After a lifetime of this intuition, I found the book that I had been waiting for my entire life. 3. Do you play music while you write — and if so, what’s your favorite?
Music is an essential part of my life. I have music playing all day. My favorites when working on a creative project are sacred music like kirtan, percussion, classical, South American, and African. I find it relaxing and inspiring.
4. Do you prefer ebooks, printed books, or audiobooks?
My preference is a printed book. I love to curl up with a good book.
5. How long have you been writing, or when did you start?
I have written most of my life, beginning with journals. I have been writing for 40 years.
6. If they made your book into a movie, which actors would play your characters?

7. Which characters in your book are most similar to you or people you know?
This is my memoir; the lead character is me. Everything I wrote about happened. I only changed people’s names if they were not comfortable being identified.
8. What inspired your book?
I had an intense vision dream in 2010. It was about the Pandemic. A dream interpreter told me people all over the United States had the same dream. When Covid showed up ten years later, my Spirit Guides told me it was time to write my book and tell everything I know and have learned on my spiritual journey. What made it particularly challenging was that I had told no one about most of the things in the book. I had to take a leap of faith from not telling anyone to telling the entire world.
9. How did you come up with the title of your book?
– Titles are my weakness. When I was the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of an award-winning magazine, I always struggled with the article titles. I would rather write ten articles than come up with one title. There were so many working titles for this book I lost track. During a session I had with a marketing consultant for the book cover, I sent her information about my book. She found the title in a descriptive paragraph I submitted to her. As soon as she suggested using it, I knew it would be the last title. The name “Wisdom Keeper; My Extraordinary Journey to Unlock the Sacred Within” also works well for the intuitive shamanic energy healing work I do.
10. What risks have you taken with your writing that have paid off?
My Spirit Guides showed up daily when I was writing the book to guide me on what to include. I trusted them completely, so I didn’t even write an outline. It went against everything I know as a professional writer, but I did it anyway. The payoff? My book won four awards in the first six months of its release!
