The Witch and the Watcher by Phil Price

With the autumnal nights and Halloween fast approaching, you may feel it’s time for a bit of a chill read. I say chill, this novel has all the elements of a chill read such as witches, demons, vampires, ghostly figures and other worlds but I would class this book as more of a dark fantasy adventure that flits from the world as we know it to another world that the author has skilfully built.

The horror descriptions are dark and graphic, just what a horror lover like myself would expect. Phil Price has done an excellent job in steering this epic tale and bringing all these characters together, providing a satisfying conclusion.

The main characters, little Jasper and his mother Vicky felt so real. I love that there are some funny goings-on in the Lickey Hills. I’ll never see them in the same light when I head over for a hike.

I would recommend this book to people who first and foremost enjoy fantasy and adventure, then horror.

Thank you for reading.
