Oh my goodness, I have so much to say about this book and much more to think about. Renita is highly skilled in putting her readers through an emotional journey.
This book explores the complexities of the human condition as the characters’ stories unfold. It delves into the drivers behind their behaviour and how powerful society, culture and upbringing are.
Beneath an Indian Sky is an epic tale of loss, betrayal, abuse of power and duty. As a reader, I found myself fully immersed in the beautiful Indian setting. With Renita’s skill, I felt able to taste the food, smell the air and feel the heat, while picturing the Indian backdrop. This is testament to her amazing writing.
If you’re looking for a read that will stay with you for a long time, that demands you treasure all the words on the page, then this book is for you. In my opinion, this would make a brilliant book club read as there is plenty to discuss after reading it.
